I approached Jonathan and his team at Genesis Gym after giving birth to my second kid. I was weak as a kitten and my back hurt all the time from the epidural and carrying my kids (the wrong way – I know now!). Previously I had done some weight training, mostly a random selection of exercises but I really wasn’t heading anywhere with all that randomness but was hesitant to engage the trainers at the gym where I was a member at. It was obvious that they were out to rack up client numbers…So I really appreciated the customized approach at Genesis. I am the kind of guy who was not naturally “bouncy” or fast. In fact in my early secondary school days, I was one of the least athletic members of my school’s basketball team.
But after training at the Genesis Gym, I achieved a Standing Broad Jump of 270cm. That is a good result even for a naturally athletic person! It was a MASSIVE increase of 50cm over my previous best of 220cm.

The Genesis Gym is THE premier fitness and conditioning center. I had signed up to improve my Standing Broad Jump. I have never done well in SBJ ever before. Despite a lot of effort on my own, I only managed a poor jumping distance of 180cm despite a lot of wasted effort.
But with the correct training and jumping techniques taught at the Genesis Gym, I improved to 216cm at the end of my training program just 3 months later. 36cm improvement in 12 weeks was really great after YEARS of frustration.
Another great thing is that I also became leaner, more muscular and improved my posture, strength and appearance all at the same time. All this while training less than 4 hours per week.

I embarked on a mission to become a lean mean fighting machine. A close friend of mine introduced me to coach Jonathan and his staff.
I started of with a capability of 12 chin ups, and at the end of the 5 week program, was able to do 19 with a I rep max of body weight plus 32kg.
I was also able to lift 125kg and squat 90kg. this left me feeling much stronger and more powerful.
The 5 weeks program allowed me to gain 5kg of muscle. The program also taught me a lot of new techniques and corrected a lot of misconceptions I had about the physiology of the body and helped me to realize the correct way to a Spartan body.

Hey Coach! I have to say that your training center has definitely come a long way from its humble days, yet nothing’s changed in terms of propelling clients to achieve their fitness goals. In fact, the training programs just keep improving and right now with more variations than ever. The gym has this great motivating atmosphere where everyone gives their absolute best and of course, with tons of help from the friendly and enthusiastic trainers.
From personal experience, training results were stagnant until I joined Genesis where I lost a further 5% of fat and at the same time gained 5 kg of lean muscle. Yes, the trainings were grueling but they were worth it. I cannot thank Jon and the staff enough for helping me achieve this. I was around 100 kg, 172 cm when I joined. Before that I have already done a bit of weight training based on the articles from fitness magazines. basically doing bicep curls and other stupid exercises ( which wasn’t working too well for me). Instead of spending more money buying useless fat burner pills or magazines I decided to join Genesis.At Genesis, they taught me how to do proper deadlift, squat and other important exercises with correct form ( which is very important for beginner) that I never know before. They made customised training program for me. They also taught me how to take nutrition correctly. Despite my busy schedule ( I have to travel overseas often). I have made a lot of progress. I actually had a right shoulder injury before I joined. It was called a SLAP tear. it hurt so bad that I could not rotate my shoulder completely, hanging on the pullup bar and could not play the sport I love: softball.
after being 1plus year in jon’s gym training, my right shoulder was even better and stronger than before! NO MORE PAIN when it comes to rotating my shoulder and I could resume playing softball. furthermore, I could even do 12 pullups (and counting) in one attempt!

I joined Genesis about 6 wks ago and I’ve never felt better. I’m happier, healthier, more alert and have a spring in my step even in the workplace. “To all people looking for a place to start working out: What are the key differences between the Genesis Gym and perhaps a normal gym at your community center?
First of all, I believe no gym can beat Genesis in terms of their world-class equipment and facilities, having trained there personally myself. Th…e facilities disposes a wide range of exercises that normal gyms cannot achieve, such as a prowler and the 40m track. It also provides chalk to support those with a weaker grip who are handicapped because of it. There’s also a gym program designated for everyone, as the staff take notes of your body structure and the core nutrient you lack.
Next, you can’t beat the gym instructors themselves. All of them are great in shape and well-informed about exercising forms, being able to give good examples of almost every exercise they need you to get into good shape. Another key factor would be how to help you recover from injuries, as I well remember there was this time when there was a pain in my thigh which refused to go away. After Jonathan broke up the scar tissues for me, the pain went away the next day.
Finally, a gym can be extremely tiring without the right motivation as move people give up after not seeing results. Here at genesis, everyone is motivated to their best and become faster, stronger and bigger, and the coaches constantly reminds you of how your newfound physical attributes can run your opponent to the ground.
